Hand Soap Dispensers - Hand Wash
Founded in 1946 by Akron, Ohio married couple Goldie and Jerry Lippman, GOJO has emerged as the industry standard for industrial hand cleaner that is tough on grease and grim, yet gentle on skin. While Goldie Lippman was working as a supervisor at a rubber factory during the war, many workers at the time would use kerosene or benzene to remove graphite and carbon black materials from their hands after work. Goldie set out to create hand cleaner that could safely remove these materials and with her husband Jerry on board, innovation would take an exciting turn as Professor Clarence Cook at the Kent State University chemistry department was consulted. Together the team developed rinse-off GOJO Hand Cleaner, which successfully launched and sold out of the back of Jerry's car in repurposed pickle jars. GOJO's initial launch was incredibly successful and lauded by workers and professionals who came in contact with the revolutionary product. It was so successful, that workers would often take large portions of GOJO home with them in lunch boxes, therefore creating shrink for executives to manage. Jerry Lippman stepped up to the challenge of mitigating over use and developed the world's first ever dispenser, designed to distribute equal portions of GOJO compliments of mounted designs. Since this patented design was released in 1952, its safe to say that every soap dispenser on a wall today is a direct descendant of Jerry's original design. The ongoing success of GOJO lead to the launch of Purell hand sanitizer and other hand cleaner solutions designed to eliminate germs, dirt and grime, all while making hands soft and gentle.
